Angela Dressler has a PhD in media anthropology. She works in the field at the intersection of ethnography and journalism. Her research focuses on mediated space/s and issues of cultural geographies, as well as ethnographic methodology.
She is the author of the book "Nachrichtenwelten. Hinter den Kulissen der Berichterstattung. Eine Ethnographie"(transcript, 2008). Being a trained journalist she has worked in television for more than a decade. Currently she is involved with art education and professional studies, such as e.g. the urban inquiry Prostranstvo Novosibirsk for Goethe Institut or Global Prayers Express! for Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin. She lectures on ethnographic writing and transcultural/-national journalism.
Angela has been a member of the media anthropology group since 2004.
